Doing B while also serving purpose A, typically a visit or letter. Very formal, mostly written correspondence and business greetings.

N（挨拶・お礼・報告など動作性の名詞）+ かたがた

先日のお礼かたがた、ご挨拶に伺いました。

せんじつのおれいかたがた、ごあいさつにうかがいました。

I came to greet you and also to thank you for the other day.
報告かたがた、来週お立ち寄りいたします。

ほうこくかたがた、らいしゅうおたちよりいたします。

I will drop by next week, partly to give you a report.
お詫びかたがた、書面にてご連絡申し上げます。

おわびかたがた、しょめんにてごれんらくもうしあげます。

I am writing to you, which also serves as an apology.
