Formal, written 'in order to'. Same as ために but restricted to reports, news and stiff speech; the following clause states a deliberate action.
V-dict + べく；する→すべく（するべく）
  1. 早期の解決を図るべく、対策会議を開いた。
    そうきのかいけつをはかるべく、たいさくかいぎをひらいた。
    In order to seek an early resolution, they held a task force meeting.
  2. 実態を把握すべく、社員に調査を行った。
    じったいをはあくすべく、しゃいんにちょうさをおこなった。
    In order to grasp the real situation, they surveyed the employees.
  3. 事業を拡大すべく、新工場を建設する。
    じぎょうをかくだいすべく、しんこうじょうをけんせつする。
