〜がたい
Says something is hard to do because it goes against feeling or judgment, not physical difficulty. Written and formal; limited to verbs like 信じる, 忘れる, 想像する.
V-masu stem + がたい（信じ／忘れ／理解し など）
彼の話は信じがたいものだった。
かれのはなしはしんじがたいものだった。
His story was hard to believe.
この結果は受け入れがたい。
このけっかはうけいれがたい。
This result is hard to accept.
学生時代は忘れがたい思い出ばかりだ。
がくせいじだいはわすれがたいおもいでばかりだ。
My student days are nothing but unforgettable memories.
