〜ずにはいられない
Describes a feeling so strong you cannot stop yourself from acting. Spontaneous, not a duty. Somewhat literary; 〜ないではいられない is the softer spoken variant.
V-nai stem + ずにはいられない（する→せずにはいられない）
あの映画を見ると、泣かずにはいられない。
あのえいがをみると、なかずにはいられない。
I can't help crying whenever I watch that film.
彼の話を聞いて、笑わずにはいられなかった。
かれのはなしをきいて、わらわずにはいられなかった。
Hearing his story, I couldn't help laughing.
心配で、電話せずにはいられなかった。
しんぱいで、でんわせずにはいられなかった。
I was so worried that I couldn't stop myself from calling.
