〜に限って
Marks the one time or person out of all others, usually with ironic bad luck ('of all days'), or with a negative to insist 'not X of all people'. Common in speech and writing.
N + に限って（〜に限って〜ない で「〜だけは…しない」）
急いでいる日に限って、電車が遅れる。
いそいでいるひにかぎって、でんしゃがおくれる。
Of all days, the trains are late when I'm in a hurry.
傘を持っていない日に限って雨が降る。
かさをもっていないひにかぎってあめがふる。
It rains precisely on the days I don't have an umbrella.
うちの子に限って、そんなことはしません。
うちのこにかぎって、そんなことはしません。
My child, of all children, would never do such a thing.
