Even supposing A is true, B still holds. A concessive hypothesis, often paired with たとえ. Neutral register, frequent in argument and discussion.
plain + としても（N・na-adj は「だとしても」）
  1. 今から出発したとしても、開演には間に合わない。
    いまからしゅっぱつしたとしても、かいえんにはまにあわない。
    Even if we leave now, we won't make it in time for the curtain.
  2. たとえ冗談だとしても、その言い方はひどい。
    たとえじょうだんだとしても、そのいいかたはひどい。
    Even if it was a joke, that way of saying it is awful.
  3. 費用が安いとしても、品質が悪ければ意味がない。
    ひようがやすいとしても、ひんしつがわるければいみがない。
    Even if it's cheap, it's meaningless if the quality is poor.
