〜せいで
N + の / plain form + せいで. Means 'because of', blaming someone or something for a bad result. The opposite of おかげで.
N + のせいで / V/い-adj plain + せいで / な-adj + なせいで
  1. 雨のせいで、試合が中止になった。
    あめのせいで、しあいがちゅうしになった。
    Because of the rain, the game was called off.
  2. 寝坊したせいで、会議に遅れました。
    ねぼうしたせいで、かいぎにおくれました。
    Because I overslept, I was late for the meeting.
  3. 彼のせいで、みんなが待たされた。
    かれのせいで、みんながまたされた。
    Because of him, everyone was kept waiting.
