The bicycle repair

Read the passage twice — once for the gist, once slowly — then answer the questions. Every kanji has its reading above it; the words in the box are the ones worth knowing. 291 characters.

In English
On the way to the station my bicycle tyre got a puncture. I took it to a nearby bicycle shop, and the elderly owner said, "Give me fifteen minutes," and mended it straight away.
While I waited I looked round the shop. Old tools were lined up neatly on the wall, every one of them well worn in. "Some of them I've used for fifty years," the old man laughed. "Looking after a thing makes it last longer than buying a new one."
The charge was 1,500 yen. I do not know whether that is expensive or cheap, but a new bicycle would cost tens of thousands. And the bicycle that had been repaired for me felt more precious than before. Perhaps this is what using something for a long time means.
