In English
Japan has four seasons, and each is enjoyed differently. Spring is cherry-blossom season: from late March into early April, parks and riversides fill with people having hanami. Many go with colleagues, and some save a spot from early morning. Summer is hot and humid, which may be hard for foreigners, but there are summer festivals and fireworks and the evenings are lively. Autumn, I think, is the most comfortable season of the year — the mountains turn red and yellow and the food gets better. In winter the north has heavy snow and skiing; the south is not so cold and has run after run of clear days. Which season to come in is best decided by what you want to do.
