ろくに〜ない

"Hardly, not properly." Says that something is not done adequately or enough. Conversational, and it usually carries complaint or reproach.

「十分に〜ない」と非難の気持ちを込めて言う話し言葉。

Formation: ろくに + V-ない（関連表現に「ろくな + N + ない」）

Example sentences

  1. 忙しくてろくに食事も取れない。

    いそがしくてろくにしょくじもとれない。

    I'm so busy I can't even eat properly.

  2. 彼はろくに調べもせずに結論を出した。

    かれはろくにしらべもせずにけつろんをだした。

    He reached a conclusion without properly looking into it.

  3. 昨夜はろくに眠れなかった。

    さくやはろくにねむれなかった。

    I hardly slept at all last night.
