Privacy

Short version: we don't track you personally, we don't sell data, we don't use marketing cookies, we don't have ads.

What we don't collect

What we do collect

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count pageviews per page. This is anonymous, cookie-free, and aggregated. Cloudflare's privacy policy explicitly forbids using this data to track individuals.

Specifically, we see things like: "/kanji/ got 1,500 visits last week". We never see "user X visited these pages in this order".

Logs

Cloudflare (our CDN) automatically keeps short-term access logs for security purposes (DDoS prevention, abuse detection). These contain IP addresses and timestamps and are deleted within 7 days. We never look at them unless investigating an attack.

PDFs hosted on R2

When you download a PDF, Cloudflare R2 logs the request the same way as any HTTP server. Same short-term retention, same anonymous aggregation in analytics.

Embeds, third-party scripts

None on the public site. The only external script is Cloudflare's privacy-friendly analytics beacon. We don't embed YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, or anything else that would set third-party cookies.

Your rights

Because we don't have personal data tied to you, there's nothing to delete, export, or amend. If that ever changes — for example, if we add comments or accounts in Phase 2 — this page will be updated and a banner will explain the change.
