〜てしまう / 〜ちゃう

Verb (te-form) + しまう. Shows an action is completed, or expresses regret that something happened. ちゃう/じゃう is the casual form.

動作の完了や、残念な気持ちを表す。会話では「ちゃう」。

Formation: V-te + しまう / V-te(ちゃ・じゃ) + う

Example sentences

  1. 宿題は全部やってしまった。

    しゅくだいはぜんぶやってしまった。

    I finished all my homework.

  2. 大切な書類をなくしてしまった。

    たいせつなしょるいをなくしてしまった。

    I lost an important document.

  3. 電車の中で寝ちゃった。

    でんしゃのなかでねちゃった。

    I fell asleep on the train.
