〜させていただく

Verb (causative te-form) + いただく. Humble way to say 'allow me to do', used when asking permission or announcing your own action politely.

自分の行動を「させてもらう」と謙譲で言う表現。

Formation: V-causative-te + いただく / いただけませんか

Example sentences

  1. 明日、休ませていただきます。

    あした、やすませていただきます。

    I will be taking the day off tomorrow, with your permission.

  2. 自己紹介をさせていただきます。

    じこしょうかいをさせていただきます。

    Allow me to introduce myself.
