〜のに

Plain form + のに (na-adj/noun + なのに). Means 'although / in spite of', with surprise, disappointment or complaint about an unexpected result.

予想と違う結果に対する意外さや不満を表す「〜けれども」。

Formation: V/i-adj plain + のに / N・na-adj + なのに
