~てはいけない (Must not)

Prohibition: te-form + はいけない.

て形＋はいけない。禁止を表す。会話では「ちゃいけない」も使う。

Formation: V-て + はいけない／はいけません

Example sentences

  1. ここで写真を撮ってはいけません。

    ここでしゃしんをとってはいけません。

    You must not take photos here.

  2. 教室で食べてはいけません。

    きょうしつでたべてはいけません。

    You must not eat in the classroom.

  3. 夜遅く電話してはいけない。

    よるおそくでんわしてはいけない。

    You mustn't call late at night.
