Restrictive + negative.

「〜しか〜ない」で「それだけ」と少なさを強調する。必ず否定形。

Formation: N + しか + V-ない（否定形）

Example sentences

  1. 今、千円しか持っていません。

    いま、せんえんしかもっていません。

    I only have 1,000 yen right now.

  2. この店は日曜日しか休みません。

    このみせはにちようびしかやすみません。

    This shop is closed only on Sundays.

  3. 教室には学生が一人しかいない。

    きょうしつにはがくせいがひとりしかいない。

    There is only one student in the classroom.
