Watching a Shinto wedding procession
神前式の花嫁行列を見る しんぜんしきのはなよめぎょうれつをみる
Free · Photogenic · History · Early morning
Not a booking but a habit: on weekend mornings at Meiji Shrine, and on auspicious days at Kanda Myojin and Hie Shrine, wedding parties cross the courtyard under a red umbrella behind a priest and two shrine maidens, the bride in a white hood. Stand back, do not use flash, and you will see a ceremony that has not changed in a century, for free, without being a guest.
