Why we recommend it
Run by veteran carver Asaka Motoharu, who has spent over 50 years reproducing ukiyo-e woodblocks, this Nihonbashi studio teaches the actual printing side of the craft rather than a souvenir-stand version. Classes are held steps from the old Edo-period paper-trading district, giving visitors a direct link to the block-printing trade that once supplied local publishers.
- How to book
- Contact the studio by phone or the website's contact form to reserve a group class; sessions are held at partner venues such as the Ozuwashi paper gallery in Nihonbashi.

We deliberately publish no opening hours or prices — they change. Every place links to its official site, which is the source of truth.
