Operators / A morning service at a temple
Zojoji Temple - Daily Morning Service
増上寺 朝勤行
Roppongi & Azabu · Onarimon or Shibakoen Station (Toei Mita Line), or Daimon Station
Why we recommend it
Zojoji is the head temple of Jodo-shu Buddhism in Tokyo and the Tokugawa family's funerary temple beside Tokyo Tower; its monks hold a chanting service early every morning, which visitors can simply walk in and sit in on. It is a rare chance to see an actual, unstaged working temple ritual near Roppongi/Azabu rather than a tourist reenactment.
