~と (Whenever/if)

Natural consequence: dictionary form + と.

辞書形＋と。自然な結果や習慣的なことを表す。後件に意志は使えない。

Formation: V-辞書形 / V-ない + と

Example sentences

  1. 春になると、花が咲きます。

    はるになると、はながさきます。

    When spring comes, the flowers bloom.

  2. このボタンを押すと、ドアが開きます。

    このボタンをおすと、ドアがあきます。

    If you press this button, the door opens.

  3. まっすぐ行くと、駅があります。

    まっすぐいくと、えきがあります。

    If you go straight, there's a station.
