Aは Bです (X is Y)

Use です (formal) / だ (casual) to link a topic with a noun.

名詞文の基本。「AはBです」で主題と名詞を結びつける。

Formation: N1 は N2 です (casual: N1 は N2 だ)

  1. わたしは 学生です。

    わたしは がくせいです。

    I am a student.

  2. これは 本です。

    これは ほんです。

    This is a book.

  3. 山田さんは 先生です。

    やまださんは せんせいです。

    Mr. Yamada is a teacher.
