An evening with geisha

芸者の座敷 げいしゃのざしき

High-end · History · Book ahead · Art

The most expensive and least understood evening in Japan: a private tatami room in a ryotei, a kaiseki dinner, and two or three geisha who dance, play the shamisen, pour, and run the games and conversation for two hours. Tokyo's remaining districts — Kagurazaka, Akasaka, Asakusa — take bookings through the ryotei or a few specialist arrangers; a hotel concierge can open the door. Interpretation is provided; the point is the art, not the mystery.

How to arrange it
Book three to four weeks ahead through a concierge or arranger; groups of two to eight; full payment in advance is normal.
