Why we recommend it

Held every Sunday in the precincts of Hanazono Shrine, one of Shinjuku's oldest shrines, this is one of central Tokyo's longest-running antique markets, with established dealers laying out Edo- and Meiji-era ceramics, textiles, and curios directly on the shrine's stone paths. Its city-center location makes it an easy, atmospheric add-on to a Shinjuku or Kabukicho visit.

How to book
No booking needed; it is a free, open-air market held on shrine grounds every Sunday from early morning until sunset — just walk in and browse.
