Every weekend one shrine or another holds an antiques fair: Oedo Antique Market at the Tokyo International Forum in Marunouchi on the first and third Sunday, the largest outdoor one in Japan; Hanazono Shrine on Sundays; Togo Shrine and Akagi Shrine on set days. Lacquer, kimono by the kilo, woodblock prints, tea bowls, and dealers who will bargain a little. Go at opening with cash.

Its city-center location makes it an easy, atmospheric add-on to a Shinjuku or Kabukicho visit.
