〜次第だ / 〜次第で

"Depends on": the outcome is decided by the noun before 次第. 次第だ ends the sentence, 次第で／次第では continues it. Neutral to formal.

前の名詞によって結果が決まることを表す。「〜によって決まる」。

Formation: N + 次第だ（文末）／次第で／次第では（後に結果が続く）

Example sentences

  1. 行くかどうかは天気次第だ。

    いくかどうかはてんきしだいだ。

    Whether we go depends on the weather.

  2. 結果は君の努力次第で変わる。

    けっかはきみのどりょくしだいでかわる。

    The result will change depending on your effort.

  3. 状況次第では、計画を中止することもある。
