~ながら (While ~ing)

Simultaneous actions: stem + ながら.

ます形の語幹＋ながら。同じ人が二つの動作を同時に行う。

Formation: V-ます stem + ながら + main verb

Example sentences

  1. 音楽を聞きながら勉強します。

    おんがくをききながらべんきょうします。

    I study while listening to music.

  2. テレビを見ながらごはんを食べた。

    テレビをみながらごはんをたべた。

    I ate dinner while watching TV.

  3. 歩きながら電話をしないでください。

    あるきながらでんわをしないでください。

    Please don't talk on the phone while walking.
