teamLab Planets
チームラボプラネッツ ちーむらぼぷらねっつ
Barefoot through knee-deep water and infinite mirrors — the digital art museum that redefined the museum visit.
EssentialArt · Modern · Rainy day · With children · Photogenic · Book ahead
You leave your shoes at the entrance and walk, in the dark, through spaces that respond to you: a corridor of water that lights up with koi as you wade, a room of mirrors and hanging lights that go on forever, a garden of suspended orchids that rise as you approach, and a floor of moss and eggs. It is teamLab's most physical work, built as a temporary installation in 2018 and extended again and again because the queues never stopped. Ninety minutes is enough; wear trousers that roll to the knee.
Don't miss
- The koi corridor, water to the knee, fish scattering into flowers as they touch you
- The mirror room of crystal lights, the one every photograph shows
- The orchid garden, which lifts to let you through
